Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy Support

Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is an emerging field of mental health care being studied for its potential to support individuals experiencing post-traumatic stress, treatment-resistant depression, and existential or end-of-life distress related to serious illness.

Anita is a Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Practitioner and graduate of the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in Colorado and provides psychotherapy preparation and integration support for individuals who may be exploring legally authorized psychedelic-assisted therapy options.

Participation begins with individual screening and preparation sessions, which help determine suitability, establish therapeutic goals, and prepare clients for the experience. A minimum of three preparation sessions is required before any potential medicine session.

Access to psychedelic medicines in Canada is restricted and may only occur when authorized by a qualified medical practitioner and approved through Health Canada mechanisms such as the Special Access Program (SAP), clinical trials, or other legal pathways. Anita does not independently prescribe or dispense controlled substances.

Session Structure

  • Preparation sessions (minimum of 3 required):
    Individual: $150 per session
Group preparation option (maximum 4 participants): $50 per session

  • Integration sessions:
Three integration sessions are recommended following the medicine experience to support reflection and the integration of insights into daily life.
    $150 per session

This work may incorporate nature-based and forest-informed therapeutic practices to support grounding, reflection, and personal meaning-making.

If you are interested in learning more about preparation, integration, and legally authorized pathways for psychedelic-assisted therapy, please contact Anita for further information.

Course Description

Workplace culture is shaped by how we communicate.

Explore the practical tools of NVC with Anita Melin, a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of clinical counselors, who has been operating a private practice counselling business in the Nelson BC area for more than 20 years at Open Door Communications. She had the good fortune to meet and train with the developer of NVC, Marshall Rosenberg, when working in India supporting communication clinics for grassroots organizations.

Our Communication Clinic introduces practical tools from Nonviolent Communication (NVC), a proven framework that helps leaders and employees express concerns clearly, listen with intention, and navigate conflict without blame. NVC shifts conversations from reaction to understanding — building trust, psychological safety, and stronger collaboration across teams.

Discover how NVC can transform the way your organization works — one conversation at a time.

NVC provides practical tools to:

  • Express concerns clearly without blame

  • Listen in ways that reduce tension

  • Understand underlying needs behind behavior

  • Respond rather than react under pressure
